VENEZUELA: Ministers To Discuss Country's Situation At World Bank Meeting

(Agencia CMA Latam) - A delegation led by the Argentinean Finance Minister, Luis Caputo, is traveling this week to the United States to take part in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank in Washington. The country's participation in the event has an agenda to discuss issues such as the crisis in Venezuela and talks on finance.

As chairman of the Contact Group on the situation in Venezuela, Caputo is expected to hold a meeting with ministers and senior officials from the Americas, Europe, and Japan to discuss the economic and humanitarian crisis in the country.

The debate arose after a first meeting of the group in March, in Argentina, where a statement was issued in which Venezuelan President Nicol?s Maduro was asked to accept offers of international humanitarian aid to address the health and welfare needs of the Venezuelan people.

In addition to talks related to the World Bank and Latin American finance ministers, the Argentinean official should hold bilateral meetings with representatives of Chile, Mexico, and Brazil on the regional economic scenario.
