AlphaVu Announces Appointment of Former Illinois Senator Mark Kirk to Board of Advisors

Senator Kirk brings decades of intelligence experience and political acumen to his new role.

Elected to the House in 2000, Kirk served five terms as Representative of Illinois' 10th district before joining the Senate in 2010, filling President Obama's vacated seat. Working on a variety of infrastructure issues, Kirk often partnered with fellow Illinois Senator Dick Durbin to bring federal funding to transportation projects across his home state. Notably, Kirk introduced the Lincoln Legacy Infrastructure Development Act, legislation aimed at removing obstacles for private investment in roads, airports, rail, and transit.

Prior to his service in the Congress, Kirk practiced law, worked as an officer at the World Bank and Counsel to the House International Relations Committee. Kirk served as a reserve intelligence officer for 23 years, including work with the Defense Intelligence Agency in the National Military Command Center before retiring in 2013 at the rank of Commander.
