Chart Westcott to Award Financial Scholarship to Young Entrepreneurs

Mr. Chart Westcott, COO of Ikarian Capital, launches a scholarship for students with an entrepreneurial mindset.

DALLAS, TEXAS, USA, March 20, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Chart Westcott Scholarship, founded in 2018, was created to support young entrepreneurs looking to make a positive impact in society through their business ideas. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding scholar and aspiring entrepreneur who submits a 500-word essay through the Chart Westcott Scholarship website. The scholarship winner will have distinguished themselves through passionate commitment to entrepreneurship on their campuses and in their communities. The scholarship is designed to foster and encourage students to pursue entrepreneurial ventures that have a positive impact on society.

“I am passionate about supporting young entrepreneurs and their ambitious business ideas that will have a positive impact on our communities. I encourage students to apply for the scholarship to help offset expenses incurred when starting a new business” said Chart.

Chart Westcott presides as Chairman of the Westcott Foundation, a private foundation that focuses on improving education and economic conditions in Dallas, TX through grants. Chart Westcott serves on the board of the Dallas County Historical Society and the Texas Real Estate Commission. Westcott was also the Founder of JFKDAY, a day of volunteerism that he organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s tragic assassination in Dallas. He also led efforts to pass Alicia’s Law in Texas, serving as the Texas Chairman of Protect.org, a pro-child anti-crime advocacy group.

Who is eligible for the scholarship?
Qualifying individuals will be a high school senior or full-time college student, maintain a 3.0+ GPA, and reside in the U.S.

How does one apply for The Chart Westcott Scholarship?
Eligible students will be asked to submit a 500-word essay to The Chart Westcott Scholarship website answering the following question: “Describe your entrepreneurial idea and why you would make a great future entrepreneur or business leader.”

When is the deadline to apply?
The deadline to apply for The Chart Westcott Scholarship for study in the fall of 2019 will be February 28th, 2019. The Foundation must notify the recipient of the grant no later than March 31st, 2019.
